The next morning we began our journey for Ouarzazate in his Land Rover. The ride through the High Atlas Mountains and the 2,260 meters steep winding Tizi-n-Tichka Pass was exciting. (I must say that the roads are good in Morocco).
High Atlas Mountains & Tizi-n-Tichka pass...
High Atlas Mountains & my guide Ali...It was thrilling taking in all that scenery. Below us a true Moroccan country life. I see valleys, Berber villages, and kasbahs several centuries old some still inhabited.
Ancient kasbahs in the High Atlas Mountains...Women on donkeys with water jugs on their way to the well and canals. I want to capture this picturesque sight on film, but it is impossible to photograph women in public for often a man would appear out of nowhere squatting under a tree or against a rock observing these girls and who would inevitably report back to their husbands. However, I did get a shot of a donkey loaded with water jugs.
